Space is completely silent. Sound waves need a medium to travel through and as there is no atmosphere in space, there is no sound. For this reason communication in space is normally done through radio waves.
Space travel does not have to cost millions. Reusable space planes cost dramatically less than throwaway rocket launchers, making space travel surprisingly affordable.
